2015-11-17 දින ජනතාවාදී අයවැයක් ස‍දහා ක්‍රියාකාරී එකතුව විසින් මරදාන CSR හීදී මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාවක් සංවිධානය කර තිබුනි.

එහි අදහස් දක්වමින් ඉඩම් හා කෘෂිකර්ම ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණ ව්‍යාපාරයේ චින්තක රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පවසා සිටියේ,
අලුත් ආණ්ඩුව විසින් ඔවුන් පළමු අයවැය යෝජනාවලිය ලබන 20 වන දින පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත අතර මෙවර අයවැය ගොවි, ධීවර, කම්කරු, කාන්තා, වතුකරය, උතුරු නැගෙනහිර මිනිසුන් වෙනුවෙන් ඉදිරිපත් වේ යැයි අපි බලාපොරොත්තු වෙනවා. එසේ නොවුන හොත් ඊට අදාලව ඉදිරි ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ස‍දහා අප සූදානම්.


අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතා විසින් නොවැම්බර් 05 වන දින පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී මධ්‍යකාලීන ආර්ථික ප්‍ර‍තිපත්තිය පිළිබද විශේෂ ප්‍රකාශයක් කළා. එම ප්‍රතිපත්තිය අනුව ඉදිරියේ දී අපි නියෝජනය කරන ක්ෂේත්‍ර‍න් වලට විශාල අභියෝග වලට මුහුණදීමට සිදුවෙනවා. රජයේ බලාපොරොත්තුව ශ්‍රී ලංකාව දකුණු ආසියාවේ විවෘත හා තරගකාරී ආර්ථිකය බවට පත්කිරීමටයි.

2015 සංඛ්‍යාලේඛන අනුව අපේ රට ලෝකයේ සාගිනි තත්වයේ රාජ්‍යයක් බවට පත්වෙලා. අපේ රටේ දරුවන්ගෙන් 21.6% ක් මන්දපෝෂණයෙන් පෙළෙනවා.

අපේ රටේ ජනගහනයෙන් 43% කගේ දෛනික ඉපයීම ඇ.ඩො. 2 ට වඩා අඩුයි. රටේ ජාතික ආදායමෙන් 38% ක් භුක්ති විදින්නේ පොසත්ම 10% ය. රටේ මන්දපෝෂණය 23% යි. අපිට අපේ රටේ නිෂ්පාදනය කරන්න පුළුවන් ආහාර පිටරටින් ගේන්න වසරකට රු. කෝටි 6000 ක් මේ රජය විසින් වියදම් කරනවා. එනිසා අග්‍රාමාත්‍යතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ මධ්‍යකාලීන ආර්ථික ප්‍ර‍තිපත්තිය අසාර්ථක ප්‍රතිපත්තියක්.

මීට අමතරව මෙම මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාව සදහා, එක්සත් කම්කරු සම්මේලනයේ ලීනස් ජයතිලක, ජාතික ධීවර සහයෝගීතා ව්‍යාපාරයේ හර්මන් කුමාර, සවිස්ත්‍රී කාන්තා සංවිධානයේ පද්මා පුෂ්පකාන්ති, ශ්‍රී ලංකා සොබා සාමූහික‍යේ තිලක් කාරියවසම්, ලංකා ගොවි සංසදය වෙනුවෙන් සෝමසිරි පුංචිරාළ යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් අදහස් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලදී.

A dialogue was organized by Savisthri Matale District Women’s Collective with the Government Authorities

A dialogue was organized by Savisthri Matale District Women’s Collective with the Government Authorities on 12th Oct 2015 at Rathtota Pradeshiya Sabha Hall. It was to direct the attention of those responsible Government Authorities towards the effects caused by metal quarries operating in lonewheel Rathtota. Although they have received permission from the local government, however equipments they use are not approved by the Government of Sri Lanka. As a results it has caused immense damage to the natural environment, to human lives and livelihoods. The area has a rich bio-diversity with water resources, it is now identified as an area prone to landslides and many have lost lives in the past. Many women are going for foreign employment due to loss of livelihoods. they also troubled by,
Non-payment of compensation for the loss of lives, various types of Disabilities and health issues such as respiratory problems, affecting children and animals due to sound pollution, damaged access roads and affected children’s education.


This was organized in parallel to “16 DAYS OF GLOBAL ACTION ON RURAL WOMEN" under the campaign title Women Assert Our Rights to Land and Resources. And also to World Food Day.

Matale District Savisthri Women’s Collectives organized a discussion on social issues

Matale District Savisthri Women’s Collectives- Raththota organized a discussion at Maussagolla Rajamahavihara on October 30th 2015 to prepare and organize the villagers who are affected by metal quarries in the area where the illegal machinery is being used. The discussion was on “How to present their issues to the responsible government officers.” There are 600 families living in the area and their lives are at danger due to the damage done by the illegal metal quarries. As a result of the damage done to the natural environment there is a shortage of water in the area now and vulnerable to landslides , not only to the lives to humans but to the animals living in the area, livelihoods of the people ,to their health ( there are quite few are mentally & physically disabled as a result) ,to children’s education, damages done to the houses and the infrastructure.

Savisthri Movement – 10th Annual Congress and the handing over of the document titled “Womens’ proposals for the betterment of Sri Lanka”


The 10th Annual Congress of the Savisthri Movement was held on the 2nd April 2015 at the Auditorium of the Public Library, Colcombo 07. at which the document titled “Womens Proposals for the betterment of Sri Lanka was handed over to the government authorities.
 
Approximately 250 individuals participated including, intellects, representatives of  various organizations and of the 07 Savisthri Districts.

At the outset the National Secretary of the Savisthri Movement explained her views regarding the womens’ proposals for the betterment of the country ie. to effect a change by eradicating the sad plight of the women at village, urban levels especially the pressurized women in the North and the East of Sri Lanka. During the past several years violence reigned in the country and even in the aftermath of the 30 year old war between the Government forces and the rebel groups, people suffered immensely especially the women in the North and the East. They  have been greatly inconvenienced and pressurised and hence the submission of the womens’ document to substantiate the rights of the women and effect a better change.

The proposals include the escalation of the womens’ representation by 25% in the parliment and the local government institutions, appointment of an Independent Womens’ Commission, formulation of economic, Social and political policies for the increase in womens representatives, to effect electoral reforms and formulation of a programme to get the corporation of the citizens to strengthen  the village constitution for the protection of the independence of the Judiciary

The Deputy Parliamentary Minister of Children’s Affairs Mrs. Rosy Senanayake to whom the document was handed over agreed to consider and expressed her desire that she could be contacted any time regarding the activities pertaining to decision making regarding the proposals embodied in the document and made a special request to hand over a copy of the relevant document to all Ministers.

This activitiy was followed by the National Congress of the Savisthri Movement where office bearers for the current year have been elected.
